Carter Comes Home!!!

From Deanna and Ryan

We brought Carter home Friday afternoon. Carter is on a monitor at home to track his heart rate and respirations which is giving us huge peace of mind at night and helped Mom & Dad to get some rest.

He also sleeps a lot which is an effect of the phenobarbitol medication. The doctors told us not to get used to such a mellow baby because as he outgrows the meds, he will surely be more active. Currently, we have to wake him to feed him every few hours although last night he woke up himself a couple times which was encouraging. Needless to say, Mom and Dad are so very happy to have our little son home where he belongs.

We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends and extended friends too! Thank you for keeping our little guy in your prayers and sending positive thoughts our way. We know you have all contributed to Carter's recovery and hope you will continue to pray for us. We aren't out of the woods yet, but are very hopeful that Carter will make a full recovery and we will someday get to remind him of how much trouble and stress he caused his new Mommy and Daddy when he was born.

Deanna,

Jacob and I have been praying nightly for "Baby Carter" since first hearing of his health struggles.

We are all so thrilled to learn that the good Lord has answered all of our prayers and brought Carter home to his wonderful parents.

And what a beautiful baby boy you have! He's SO CUTE!! I'd never know he'd had any problems he's such a cute little guy.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how truly happy I am for all of you. What a load of stress this must have been. Whew. I feel for you. (Jacob had issues for just a few hours after birth and that was as much stress as I've ever felt. I can't imagine having to deal with it for an extended period.)

You're great parents, and Carter's a lucky guy to have each of you as his Mom and Dad. :)

With lot's of love,

David (and Jacob)
