A visit from "Menma" (Grandma Diltz) and other adventures of a 5 month old...

The past week and a half we have been lucky to have my Mom visiting from Portland. The last time she saw Carter was in April so he had grown so much! Mom has been a HUGE help and we are all so sad she has to go back home, but Mempa (that's Grandpa as dubbed by cousin Jonah) said we must return her to her rightful place.
Menma and Carter on the shore of Lake Shaver
On Monday Menma, Carter and I drove to Shaver Lake which is 50 miles from Fresno in the mountains. It was a beautiful drive and Carter was once again a great traveler! Here is a picture of him sleeping soundly in his car seat on the drive up.

Carter got to play in the Lake and enjoyed the cool water on his legs.

Here is a video of Carter enjoying a dip in the cool water of Lake Shaver

Here is a recent photo of Carter and his girls. To Carter's left is Abbey and to his right is Riley.

Carter has learned the joy of grabbing things - anything - and that includes facial features that he can latch onto. Here he is "holding" Daddy's face on the front porch!
On Saturday Ryan watched the little man while Mom and I took a break and saw Mamma Mia! at the movies. When we returned the monitor was in the living room with Ryan's cell phone and Ryan and baby were nowhere to be found! After a quick search of the house I found them soundly napping together in the bedroom. It was so sweet I just had to snap a picture!

How fun to go to Shaver Lake! I loved the video. Now if only Luke would enjoy the water as much as Carter does!
