Photogenic Carter

4 6 10 14

Today I took Carter to Sears for his 18 month photos. Last year we did his photos every 2 months and this year my plan was to do it every 3 months but, as you know, things got pretty hectic and it just didn't happen. So, this is the first photo session for Carter since he turned 1 and, aside from taking a tumble onto his face just before the photographer called us in (no tears, but a big red spot on the forehead that didn't go away in time! argh!) he did FANTASTIC! The photographer couldn't stop saying how good he was and every shot turned out beautifully. At one point, Carter even rolled onto his back, put his arms up and hands under his head and looked at the camera. It was too cute! And then.....Mom thought it would be cute to have a shot with Carter holding his new stuffed puppy whom he calls, simply, "woof woof!" (although when he does his doggy imitation it is more of a "uh-uh!" sound). So I took puppy out of my bag and for one split second he was elated. And then he wanted to know where the rest of his stuffed menagerie was. That includes giraffe ("raffi") and his blanket. When they didn't appear he burst into tears and his version of a toddler tantrum (not too bad, but not good for photos!!). We managed to get 1 shot and then we were done. It did come out so sweet though (below). You can't see it from this thumbnail, but there is a big tear just sitting the lower lashes of his eye and it is glistening in the light.
