Carter's First Day of School!

Big boy on campus!
Busy rearranging the kitchen

Sink play
Attempting a sommersault (or looking for a toy behind him?!)

Today Carter went to his first day of school! He will be attending the Child Development Center on the campus for the worldwide headquarters of Mentor Graphics. This is an outstanding program that has just opened to the public for the first time in nearly 20 years. We were extremely lucky to get a spot for Carter. He will be going to school Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while I am in school too! Carter just loves it here. All the kids are friendly and kind and Carter already seems to have gravitated towards one child in particular who is pretty similar in personality.

We are going to spend the next 2 weeks getting Carter used to school slowly. Our first day was just for 2 hours from 9:30 - 11:30 (we actually stayed until noon so Carter could enjoy lunch with his new friends before going home to nap). We will slowly be extending the hours Carter spends here and in a few days I will be leaving sporadically so that Carter gets used to the idea of being there without Mom. By the time my own classes begin on 9/21, he should be all done with transitioning and ready to spend the day without me.
