A Visit to Portland

April 21 - 28 Carter and I took a trip to visit my family in Portland, OR. We spent time with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Michael, Aunt Hallie, Cousin Jonah and Cousin Mae. What a great time we had!
We went to the agricultural fair in Salem, OR and met lots of neat animals. Carter got to pet baby chicks and played in a wading pool full of corn feed. It was fun! To top off the day, as we were leaving Carter got a balloon. I love this picture because of the green grass and the old red barn in the background...and of course because my adorable boy is in it!!
Grandma and Grandpa live on the outskirts of town and just 1/2 a mile away are farms and homes with acreage. Carter enjoyed a trip to visit the horses.
Carter had a great time playing with Cousin Jonah who is exactly 51 weeks older than Carter. This is the first time they have really interacted now that Carter can walk.

The boys took a bath together (part of both kids' bedtime routines) and a first for Carter. They seemed to really enjoy it as did Hallie and I! Below is a video of the two.

I had to include this silly picture of Carter wearing a goofy orange cap and fooling around.
There are a lot of flower farms around Grandma and Grandpa's house where they propagate and sell flowers all over the country (and world?). We were fortunate to be there during the annual tulip festival and the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farms. The fields go on for miles and miles with the most magnificent colors and variations of tulips you've ever seen!

Carter and Grandma had a good time playing in the airport before we left. Look at those smiles!
