Yesterday we had our visit with the neurologist for Carter. We were anxiously awaiting the results of his EEG and they came back normal. :) Yay! In other words, it doesn't appear that Carter is continuing to have seizures - clinically or subclinically. We are going to begin weaning him from his anti-seizure medication which will take 10 weeks. I can't wait until the day when I don't have to give Carter this medicine twice a day. Aside from the inconvenience and having to schedule around his medicine time, he really hates it and cries a lot when I give it to him- especially at night. Needless to say, I am very relieved by this news and felt an enormous weight lifted off my shoulders yesterday.
Other good news (for Mom at least) is that Carter slept for 7 hours straight for the past two nights. Now, I'm not as naive a parent as I was before....I don't have foolish expectations that this will las.t. Of course, it would be great if it did, but I won't hold my breath. BUT, it sure is nice to have a chance to "recharge" my batteries - even if just for a couple nights.
This weekend we will be taking our first overnight trip away from home with our little guy. We will be heading to Berkeley for Cousin Alicia's wedding on Saturday. We're looking forward to seeing Alicia and husband to be Pablo and helping them celebrate their marriage!
Carter seems to have discovered his voice and that he can control the noises that come out. The other night he laid on his exercise mat for nearly 2 hours playing and talking. He is making the cutest noises and seems very pleased with himself and his newfound voice. Once I figure out how to upload video I will put a clip of him on the blog.

We could not be more thrilled with the wonderful news about Carter. Deanna, I hope that you went out and celebrated that night. You sounded so great on the phone. I hope the Clift Clan had a fun first trip away at the wedding. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the weekend.
