We stayed with our dear friends Gloria and Phil Holcomb. Ironically, they live just 1 block away from the house where I grew up. Gloria and Phil love being adoptive grandparents and play the part so well!

Carter & Gloria in the Claremont Village (train depot)

Carter LOVES putting on and walking in other shoes and here he managed to get into an authetic pair of wooden clogs from Holland!

Somehow I didn't manage to get a photo of Carter with "Grampy Phil" so here's a good one of Phil just enjoying watching Carter play.
This is Maleah, the daughter of my high school and neighborhood girlfriend Michelle Goodwin (Morales). We got to have lunch at their beautiful home and swim in the pool! Unfortunately, Michelle and I forgot to take a picture of the two of us together!! Carter enjoyed the company of an "older woman" and Maleah was very good with Carter.
Through part luck and part planning, one of my dearest friends, Kim Belitz (Damuth) was in Claremont with her son Luke at the same time. We spent quite a bit of time together with and without the "boys". It was great to see these two together. Kim and I enjoyed being pregnant together and Luke and Carter were due only 4 days apart. (They ended up being closer to 3 weeks apart.) Last time we all saw each other was October of last year.

We visited with our dear friends Edra and her son, Tim. Edra tutored me in Spanish (actually, she is quite responsible with teaching it to me!) and I used to babysit Tim when he was, obviously, much littler!

Carter enjoyed "wearing" Tim's shoes.

On Independence Day, the Damuth Family invited Carter and me over for a family barbecue and get-together. It was fun to see Kim's family whom I've met through the years and, of course, more photo ops!!
