Today the Wilsonville Library had a concert for the kiddos at Memorial Park across the street. The singer was "Nana Banana" and Carter loved dancing and playing along to the music.

Carter Playing with Sadie

Carter and Sadie are great friends. Carter loves throwing the ball "at" Sadie (not Sadie's preferred technique, but she is tolerant).

At the Fountains with Cousin Jonah

Wilsonville has some amazing parks and fountains for the kids to play in. Carter's favorite is at Murase Park and the fountain pops up from the ground and there is a river that flows too. Today we played at this fountain with Cousin Jonah.

Carter's First Bike Ride

Last year I bid on a Burley Bee bike trailer attachment for babies at a Silent Auction...and I won! Unfortunately, we had never had the opportunity to hook it up to my bike and give it a try. Today, we did just that. Carter donned his pirate helmet and off we went! We had a nice little ride and he really seemed to enjoy it...who wouldn't!?

The Villarreal Family Visits Portland!

On July 22nd we had very special visitors to our home. Our good friends, the Villarreals, from Mexico City, came to visit us. They were here to visit their daughter, Jazmincita, who is attending Culinary School in Vancouver, B.C. They made it to Portland to spend some time with us, too. It had been close to 10 years since I had seen Jazmin and Guillermo and a the last time I saw their youngest son, Antonio, he was just a couple years old! Jazmin and Guillermo were kind enough to have me spend time with them during the summers in High School so that I could learn Spanish. We became lifelong friends. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Carter Loves Corn on the Cob!

So Carter has never enjoyed eating corn (or rather, he has always refused to eat corn!). Until today, when I decided to give Carter my Corn on the Cob. Apparently that is a whole different culinary experience, because to our amazement, he couldn't get enough! We think he must get this from Grandpa who makes preparing and eating Corn on the Cob an "art". "Papa" (as Carter calls him) was so proud to see Carter following in his footsteps! Here are some silly shots of Carter enjoying fresh Corn on the Cob.

Moving Day!

It took just a few days for our relocubes to arrive in Wilsonville and we unloaded them the following weekend. It was also a great excuse for the cousins to play. Here are some shots from that day.

We even had time for a dip in the pool!

Carter's First Trip to the Portland Zoo

Just a few days after arriving in Portland, Carter and I joined Aunt Hallie and Cousin Mae at the Portland Zoo. The weather was beautiful and the zoo itself is spectacular!

Carter & Abbey Say Farewell

If you've read this blog before, you'd likely seen photos or heard stories about "Carter's Girl" Abbey. Abbey lives just a few doors down and on the opposite side of the street from us. They were born the same night just 8 hours apart, Abbey the evening of February 27th and Carter early morning February 28th. They are good friends and have been playmates since birth. Just before we left town, Abbey and her parents, Catherine and Zach, came by for one last special goodbye for Carter and Abbey. Carter may not remember his special girl when he is older, but here are the photos to memorialize their relationship. It brought tears to the eyes of both Mamas.

Farewell Fresno!

On our last night in Fresno, the neighbors had a little get together to say "so long!" to me and Carter. It was nice to have everybody together in one place one last time.
