Carter in his Birthday Suit (not that Birthday Suit, silly!)
On Saturday, February 28th, Carter turned "1" year old! It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since Carter's birth. Ryan and I are so blessed and thankful to have Carter in our lives.
Carter & Abbey's First Birthday
On Carter's birthday we had a small get together with the neighborhood babies. Since Carter's best girl Abbey Redmond was born just 8 hours before Carter (on the evening of February 27th), we had a joint celebration which was fun (and convenient!). I made carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting which all the kids devoured. Carter could not figure out how to get the cupcake into his mouth and after about a minute and a half of contemplation just decided to plant his face into the cupcake! It was really cute!
Carter is now officially "1" and is also officially walking! He still prefers to hold on to something, be it the couch, a toy, a finger or Mom's pant leg....but he is venturing out more and more on his own and enjoys his new skills!

that picture of Carter in his suit jacket looks like they are staging one of those wonderfully awkward pictures of my high school dances where I actually had a date.
