Animal Noises

Carter has learned to make several animal noises. So far he knows what a Doggy says, a Cat, a Duck and most recently a Lion and a Car. Here is a clip of Carter reciting his animal noises.

Farmer Carter

This weekend we went to Nana and Papa's house in Dixon for a visit. The weather Friday and Saturday was the perfect spring weather (except for Sunday which was very windy and cold). Carter had fun visiting with the whole family and tried his hand at harvesting carrots with Nana in the backyard.


We took a very special photo of 4 generations (below). Great Grandma Betty Lewis, Nana Kristy Whitehouse, Daddy Ryan Clift and Carter.

The girls love Carter!

Carter attended his friend Tobie's 1st Birthday at the end of March. Tobie is in playgroup with Carter and she is the only girl in the group. She can really hold her own with the boys as you can see in these photos. Tobie's Mommy Erin and I laugh about the fact that every time these two are at playgroup they seem to gravitate to each other. I predict Tobie will be a strong woman who knows what she wants and goes for it! Hmmmm...I wonder what made me think so???

I also predict that while Carter doesn't seem to appreciate the gesture now, someday he will be a lucky man to have the ladies gravitate towards him and take such an interest in him!

Here is a video of Carter at the early stages of his independent walking. He has gotten much sturdier everyday since. If you look carefully, at the very end he is doing his little dance which looks like he's doing "the twist".

Carter Walks!!

Carter has been walking (or cruising, rather) for quite some time but has not wanted to let go of Mom and Dad's hands. Carter began making that transition a week or so ago and yesterday he decided he was ready for full walking independence.

I know someday Carter is going to hate me for posting this, but I can't help myself. What is cuter than a picture of your baby just starting to walk? A NAKED picture of your baby starting to walk!!

Carter's Playhouse

For Carter's 1st Birthday he received a really cool, Carter-sized playhouse complete with doorbell and telephone. Here are some photos of him playing in his house.

Carter loves slides!

Carter took his first trip down a slide with Daddy in early March. He went tandem with his girl Abbey and her Daddy Zach. We now have a small slide in our backyard that our friends the Boscacci's let us borrow and while it is just a couple feet long, Carter still gets a great big grin when he goes down.

Go Speed Racer!

For Carter's Birthday, Daddy bought him a motorized car. It looks like a mini ATV and is so funny to see! Here is a clip of Carter's first ride on his new ATV.
